Apex High School Wins the 2017-18 Wells Fargo SWAC Conference Cup

Apex High School has won the 2017-18 Wells Fargo SWAC Conference Cup. This is a tremendous showing to all our coaches, players and administration.

“We have been through a very trying first year here at Green Level with the move and the lack of being at our “Old Home” and its surroundings,” said Apex High School Athletic Director Del Phillips in a message to the coaching staff and booster club. “Thanks for all the hard work from all of you … It feels good to be back on top.”

The Wells Fargo Conference Cup award, sponsored by Wells Fargo and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, is a companion to the statewide Wells Fargo Cup. It recognizes the high schools that achieve the best overall interscholastic athletic performance within each of the state’s four competitive classifications, primarily based on performance in postseason play. The Wells Fargo Conference Cup is designed to recognize the best interscholastic athletic performances within each of the NCHSAA’s conferences.

The Conference Cup is based on regular season performances within conference play. In most conferences, points are awarded based on participation and standings in conference play. Each conference determines its own method of awarding points.

Apex Baseball @ Garner (South Garner campus) for 4th round of the State Playoffs: 4 p.m. 

The Apex High School Powderpuff Game to Take Place May 23; Register May 9-11

The Powder Puff football game (postponed from fall) will now take place Wednesday, May 23, with practices taking place May 21-22 after school on the stadium field. All fall forms have been saved and new sign-ups are now being accepted. 

Sign up for Powder Puff  on the following dates during lunch:

  • Friday, May 11

All forms are due back by 1 p.m. May 11.

If you’re interested in being on the Powderpuff team, download the POWDER-PUFF-FOOTBALL-SIGNUP-2018 forms, fill them out, and turn them in by 1 p.m. on May 11.

  • 2nd Game: 11th vs. 12th grade – 6:45 p.m.
  • Championship Game at 7:30 p.m.
  • Admission: $5.00 (this is a fundraiser – no passes will be accepted)
  • Students wearing 2018 Spring Powder Puff tee shirts will be admitted for free
