Wanted: Social Media Parents for Apex High School Sports Teams

The Apex Cougar Club is requesting the help of one parent per Apex High School sports team to be our “social media parent” for that team. This point person will send us photos, results and other important information that our Communications VP and/or Interns can post on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts (add “ApexCougarClub” on Snapchat). Note: Only Cougar Club Board Members and Interns have access to social media accounts.

Our social media following has increased dramatically this year, and we are constantly receiving news and photos to share. Between our four accounts and our weekly Cougar Connections newsletter (which you can subscribe to here), we now have 2,800+ people paying attention to what Apex High School’s amazing athletes are up to — and we gain new followers every week.

The Cougar Club Board currently has parents who have students on several AHS teams, but we can’t cover them all. We need your help!

Update: The following winter and spring sports teams now have social media representatives:

Men’s Indoor Track
Women’s Indoor Track
Swim and Dive

Women’s Lacrosse
Men’s Outdoor Track
Women’s Outdoor Track

Men’s Basketball
Women’s Basketball

Men’s Golf
Men’s Lacrosse
Women’s Soccer
Men’s Tennis

Apex High students also love to see their accomplishments being shared to the Apex High School community and additional followers, such as High School OT and other local sports media; middle schools that feed into Apex High; Cougar Club Patrons; alumni; and of course, YOU, the proud parents!

As winter tryouts kick off this week, we are prioritizing social media parents for those teams at this time, but if you’re a parent of a spring team — or even fall team for next year — please email communications@apexcougarclub.org and let us know.
