Apex High Names Alumnus Britt Morton as New Head Football Coach

Apex High School announced March 7 that Britt Morton, a 1991 graduate of the school who went on to play college football at Methodist University in Fayetteville, is the new head coach of the Apex High School football program.

Coach Morton graduated from Methodist University in 1995. He returns to Apex with over 21 years of high school coaching experience. He will be moving back to Apex from Hampton, Georgia, where he was serving as a defensive coordinator, head wrestling coach and athletic director.

“I am proud to be back at Apex. I went to elementary, middle and high school here. I wore the green and gold on Friday nights, so obviously it is a special place for me and quite an honor to represent my community as the football coach. I can’t wait to get to work!” Morton says of his selection as coach.
